We are working with a number of individuals and our main conservation partner is Blue Sky Society Trust

The fight to save our planet has begun. It is real. The global drive is gathering pace and the call for action is growing louder. Despite this, there are still many who struggle to be heard, especially women.

Rise of the Matriarch is a community that celebrates and supports women on the frontline of conservation and human empowerment.

As a part of this community, Black Bean Productions has set out to create a compelling 8 part documentary series, ‘Rise of the Matriarch’, which will share the incredible stories of women in conservation throughout Africa and the iconic species they are fighting to protect – giving a voice to those that need it most.

These women recognize the vital role that human-empowerment and community involvement plays in conservation and they are working tirelessly to inspire and empower local communities.

We want to create a global community that not only supports and empowers these women, but also inspires a younger generation and encourages young women to work in areas that they are passionate about.

We will do this by sharing short format content before, during and after the long format series airs that will be housed on the website and YouTube. These short films and photography will continue to grow the community, empower women and create change. We are not feminists or activists; we are men and women supporting women and recognizing their hard work. But not only this – we want to encourage the younger generation to follow their dreams – and to lead if they are called to.

It’s the first step in helping make a difference and creating change in this space
